# Request a template

> Submit WhatsApp templates for approval through the Engage Portal or Moja.

Before a template can be used, it must first be submitted and approved by WhatsApp.

Templates can be created using either the Engage Portal or Moja.

    1. Log in to the **Engage Portal**.
    2. Navigate to **WhatsApp Templates**.
    3. Click **Create New**.
    4. Complete the required template information.
    5. Submit the template for approval.

    1. Navigate to **Settings**.
    2. Select **WhatsApp Templates**.
    3. Click **Create New**.
    4. Fill in the required details.
    5. Submit the request.
